Physiotherapy

We support children who are late developers and different learners to thrive at home, at school, and in life.

Allied Therapy's Physiotherapists offer early intervention for children who may have neurological and developmental delays, as well as sensory impairments related to hearing and vision. Physiotherapy may also help adults and children with biomechanical, positional, and sports injuries.

What can I expect from my first visit?

Allied Therapy treatment begins with an assessment. During this time, the Physiotherapist will discuss your, or your child’s, medical history, their needs, create goals, and perform a full assessment of range, strength, balance, and whatever else may be relevant to your child’s condition. From these findings, a personalized treatment plan is created and reviewed in detail with your therapist, who will answer any questions you may have.

Following our assessment of your, or your child’s, condition, a personalized treatment plan will be created specifically for them. This treatment plan will involve hands-on treatment on behalf of our physiotherapist as well as exercises and activities to perform at home. Depending on the relevance to your, or your child’s, condition and needs, treatment may include work targeted towards:

  • Posture

  • Movement and range of motion

  • Strength and endurance

  • Agility

  • Gross or fine motor skills

  • Balance and coordination

  • Functional activities

  • Activity modification

  • And much more…
