This month we have fun bug-themed activities the whole
family can take part in.
The best part is you can support your child’s learning and therapy goals while
also having fun using our suggested games and activities!
Gross Motor Activity
Draw several flowers and a beehive on the sidewalk with chalk. In this game,
pretend you’re a bee trying to get all the flowers. Jump from flower to flower
and pretend to collect all the honey then run back to the beehive.
Fine Motor Activity
On a table, arrange a few pieces of painter’s tape in lines to create a
spiderweb, with the sticky side facing up. Using pompoms as bugs, slide or flick
them to get past the spiderweb without getting stuck. For every bug that gets
past the web, you get a point!
Book and Game of the Month
Read The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle
Play Wobbly Worm by Spin Master
Speech and Language Activity
You can work on sequencing, predicting, and practice a lot of vocabulary and
speech sounds while reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
If you have any concerns about your child's development, we offer in home
