Eliza Stopa

Eliza Stopa is a Speech-Language Pathologist with over ten years of experience supporting children and families across early intervention, private practice, public schools, and specialized education settings. Her clinical interests sit at the intersection of language, literacy, speech sound development, motor speech, and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).

Eliza has a particular passion for language and literacy intervention. She believes language provides an important foundation for learning: when someone has difficulty understanding or using language, it can affect reading, writing, following directions, learning new concepts, and connecting with others. Her goal is to help clients build the communication and learning skills they need while making the process feel achievable and meaningful.

Her advanced literacy training includes an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree in Reading and Orton-Gillingham certification, including a 100-hour supervised practicum. This background allows Eliza to bring together her knowledge of speech-language development and structured literacy when supporting children whose communication and literacy needs overlap.

Eliza has advanced professional development in motor speech and early language intervention, including Dr. Edythe Strand’s advanced Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC) workshop and Hanen’s It Takes Two to Talkprogram. Her broader clinical experience includes articulation and phonological intervention, AAC, early language development, and supporting children with diverse communication profiles.

Eliza values collaboration with families and recognizes that parents and caregivers bring essential knowledge about their child. She works alongside families and other professionals to develop individualized, neurodiversity-affirming therapy that reflects each client's strengths, communication style, environment, and goals.

Above all, Eliza wants clients to leave therapy feeling that learning is possible and that they have practical skills they can use to communicate, learn, and connect with others.

Eliza is based in Halifax, Nova Scotia and provides speech-language therapy in clinic at Allied Therapy’s Bedford clinic and virtually across Nova Scotia.
