About Aya
Aya Elomrani is a Speech-Language Pathologist with three years of clinical experience supporting preschool and school-aged children across educational and clinical settings. She helps children build their communication skills, grow in confidence, and feel successful in everyday interactions at school, at home, and with their peers.
Aya has a particular interest in working with school-aged children, including support for articulation and phonology, narrative language, and phonological awareness and literacy. She understands that communication affects much more than how clearly a child speaks- it can influence how they participate in the classroom, tell stories, understand and express ideas, develop literacy skills, and connect with others.
Her clinical work also includes assessing and treating speech sound and language disorders and supporting children with complex communication needs. Aya has experience completing Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) assessments, programming communication devices, and helping children and the people around them incorporate communication systems into everyday routines.
Aya believes speech-language therapy is about more than speech. Speech-Language Pathologists can also support children with understanding and using language, developing reading and writing foundations, and building greater confidence in communication. Her goal is to look beyond an individual speech or language skill and consider how communication affects the child's participation in everyday life.
Collaboration is an important part of Aya's approach. She works with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to develop practical communication strategies that can be used outside of therapy. Her experience with classroom-based intervention also helps her consider how strategies can fit naturally into a child's school day and learning environment.
Aya wants children to experience therapy as something they can actively enjoy and participate in. She aims to make sessions fun, engaging, and meaningful, recognizing that children often learn best when they feel comfortable being themselves and are motivated to participate.
Ultimately, Aya wants children to leave therapy with more than a skill they can demonstrate during an appointment. She wants them to build communication skills and confidence they can use with their families, teachers, classmates, and peers in the situations that matter to them.

Aya continues to develop her clinical expertise in paediatric speech and language development, with particular interest in expanding her knowledge of early language and Gestalt Language Processing.
