Rehabilitation Therapy After a Motor Vehicle Accident in Nova Scotia

We meet children, adults, and families where they are- at our clinic, in partner locations, in your community, and virtually across Nova Scotia

A referral is not required to access services

About This Funding Program

Nova Scotia automobile insurance includes mandatory accident benefits, often called Section B benefits. Certain necessary medical and rehabilitation expenses may be payable within policy rules and limits. The fact that a service may be clinically helpful does not by itself establish insurance eligibility or an insurer’s obligation to reimburse it.

How Allied Therapy Can Help

Occupational therapy may help with daily living, cognitive strategies, functional routines and return-to-activity goals.

Speech-language pathology may be appropriate for communication or cognitive-communication changes.

Clinial Therapy may be appropriate to support the significant life event that offured and the resulting changes in your life.

Other services can be considered within clinicians’ scope and according to individual needs. Treatment is coordinated with relevant providers and insurers with consent.

How Funding Works

Contact Allied Therapy with the type of rehabilitation needed. Obtain the insurer’s claim information, applicable referral requirements and written authorization before assuming costs are covered. We can provide fees, clinical scope and documentation for review. Payment and reporting terms are confirmed before starting insurer-funded treatment.

Who Can Access or Refer

Injured individuals, their healthcare providers, insurance adjusters, rehabilitation coordinators and authorized representatives.
