ALLIED THERAPY · FUNDING & ACCESS

First Nations & Community-Funded Therapy in Nova Scotia

We meet children, adults, and families where they are- at our clinic, in partner locations, in your community, and virtually across Nova Scotia

A referral is not required to access services

About This Funding Program

Different First Nations, community health programs and Indigenous organizations may have their own service agreements, referral pathways and funding processes. These are separate from Jordan’s Principle and NIHB unless the particular case is being funded through those programs. Availability and coverage are specific to each arrangement.

How Allied Therapy Can Help

Our team provides speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, behaviour therapy, and counselling services. With consent, we can collaborate with community contacts, share progress and recommendations, and arrange clinic, virtual or selected community appointments. Care is individualized, collaborative and respectful of community priorities and family choice.

How Funding Works

Contact us with the requested service, age group and the name of your community or funding contact. We will confirm clinician availability, provide fees and proposed service information, and coordinate authorization and invoicing requirements before beginning funded services. We will not assume that an existing arrangement covers a new referral or different discipline.

Who Can Access or Refer

Individuals and families, First Nation health directors and coordinators, Indigenous community organizations, social workers, authorized funding representatives and referring clinicians.
