About This Funding Program

Easter Seals Nova Scotia's published 2025 Adaptive Support Fund guidelines describe a charitable equipment funding program with eligibility requirements, documentation and limits, subject to available funds. The 2025 guidelines specified a maximum of $4,000 per person in a calendar year, restrictions on application frequency, and approval before purchases. Those guidelines do not establish that a 2026 application round is open or that a particular AAC device qualifies. Applicants should confirm current rules and eligible equipment directly with Easter Seals before applying.

How Allied Therapy Can Help

Allied Therapy can explore communication and functional access needs, provide AAC or occupational therapy assessments when clinically appropriate, and prepare supporting clinical recommendations or letters within our clinicians' scope. We can help families understand the functional information a prospective funding organization may need, while leaving decisions about equipment eligibility and awards to Easter Seals Nova Scotia.

How Funding Works

First contact Easter Seals Nova Scotia to confirm that applications are currently being accepted and that the proposed equipment meets the program's criteria. Before buying anything, check the required professional support letter, quotations, co-funding or insurance information and approval process. The published 2025 rules required approval before equipment was ordered and did not reimburse already-purchased equipment. Allied can provide a clinical service quote and appropriate supporting documentation; assessment fees are not automatically covered by the equipment fund.

Who Can Access or Refer

Nova Scotia residents or their parents or guardians may inquire about the fund directly with Easter Seals. Families, therapists, care coordinators and community support workers can contact Allied Therapy about clinical assessments and equipment recommendations.
