ALLIED THERAPY · FUNDING & ACCESS

Disability Support Program (DSP) Therapy in Nova Scotia

We meet children, adults, and families where they are- at our clinic, in partner locations, in your community, and virtually across Nova Scotia

A referral is not required to access services

About This Funding Program

Nova Scotia’s DSP supports eligible people with disabilities through community-based programs, individualized funding and other disability supports. The Nova Scotia Human Rights Remedy is driving changes toward greater choice, inclusion and community living. The Remedy itself is not a universal therapy benefit; service funding depends on the individual’s approved program and support plan.

How Allied Therapy Can Help

Occupational therapy for independence, sensory needs, practical routines and daily living;

Speech-language pathology for communication, feeding changes,  and AAC;

Behaviour Therapy for positive, person-directed support; and,

Mental Health services.

We can consult with families, coordinators and other support providers with client consent. Service delivery may be in our Bedford clinic, at your home, virtually or in selected community settings.

How Funding Works

Contact Allied Therapy about your needs and which DSP pathway you receive. We can describe services, clinical availability, fees and proposed goals. Before beginning funded appointments, the participant or coordinator must confirm any program-specific authorization, approved services, payment responsibilities and invoicing details. Flex and other individualized funding do not automatically cover all therapy.

Who Can Access or Refer

DSP participants, self-advocates, families, substitute decision-makers where applicable, Local Area Coordinators, Intensive Planning and Support Coordinators and community support organizations.
