Stephanie Hovey Allied Therapy Founder

Stephanie Hovey founded Allied Therapy in 2019 when she realized that there was a gap in our healthcare system to provide a team approach privately. Her dream is to to provide a service where individuals could call a number, without a referral, and have an appointment in a timely manner to address their concerns.

Stephanie founded Allied Therapy in early 2019 to ensure that anyone in Nova Scotia has access to allied health services privately. Allied Therapy offers Speech-Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Behaviour Therapy, and Physiotherapy across Nova Scotia – providing quality evidence-based assessment and intervention to Nova Scotians.

Through dedicated study, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Masters in Speech-Language Pathology, Stephanie’s curiosity to learn about the latest evidence has defined her success in the field.  Allied Therapy staff has extensive experience working with vulnerable populations - believing in client first, evidence-based care.

Through her dedication to her Profession and community, Stephanie is a member of the Canadian Accessibility Network and devotes time to volunteering: she was the Venue lead for the North American Indigenous Games (2023), as a mentor for other women clinic owners through the Scotiabank Women Initiative®, a  professional mentor for Immigration Service Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS), as clinical educator for Dalhousie University's Speech-Language Pathology students, and sits as a Discipline Committee Member for the Nova Scotia College of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathologists.
