Our founder is Stephanie Hovey. She is a certified Speech-Language Pathologist that founded Allied Therapy to ensure that anyone in Nova Scotia has access to allied health services privately.
Stephanie founded Allied Therapy in 2019 to provide quality evidence-based assessment and intervention to Nova Scotians.
Through dedicated study she has earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (2007) and a Masters in Speech-Language Pathology (2013). Her curiosity to learn about the latest evidence has defined her success in the field.
Stephanie has extensive experience working with vulnerable populations. She believes in client first, evidence-based care. This has carried through from working at IWK Health Centre and with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education, to creating her own network.
Stephanie is a member of the Canadian Accessibility Network sitting on the board of the Education and Training Committee and the Language Guide Committee.
In her free time, Stephanie volunteers as a Venue lead for the North American Indigenous Games (2023), as a mentor for the Scotiabank Women Initiative®, as a clinical educator for Dalhousie University's Speech-Language Pathology students, and sits as a Discipline Committee Member for the Nova Scotia College of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathologists.
